Help with SPROJ/Senior Project

Every student at Bard has an academic adviser who is a member of the College's faculty. Faculty advisers hold regular advisory conferences with their student advisees throughout the semester, provide guidance and assistance to students during the registration process, and counsel students on applications for internships, plans for after graduation, and fellowship and scholarship opportunities. Students can look up their academic advisor on their online information portal (BIP).

The Library provides access to millions of books and e-books, and more than 44,000 unique periodical titles. Our services include research, writing and citation support, interlibrary loan, and resource sharing. Our Archives house documents and objects that tell the history of the College and the area. The Library's Visual Resources department is a campus-wide resource for the use of visual materials in teaching and research.

The Learning Commons is home to all of Bard’s writing support and collaborative one-on-one writing consultation. We provide highly trained peer writing support in seat and on student-preferred social communication platforms. Meet with one of our writing consultants to practice informal writing as a tool for discovery, think through ideas for essay topics, revisit writing that merits revision, generate research questions, develop written arguments, and help take your written drafts to the next level!

The Learning Commons is home to Bard’s collaborative one-on-one learning strategies support and subject-specialized tutoring. We provide trained peer academic skills, learning, reading, and discipline-specific mentorship in seat and on student-preferred social communication platforms. Students may attend study rooms and workshops and/or make appointments for subject tutoring to meet at a time of their convenience by contacting us at blc@bard.edu. Academic skills mentorship is available for all Bard students – taking effective notes; speaking in class; presentations; reading and evaluating sources; integrating and using sources ethically; managing time on tasks, etc. – all in the context of course assignments. We also offer international online tutoring to OSUN classes.

Counseling Services offers confidential and professional mental health services to students struggling with a variety of concerns. Our counselors are well trained in working with students of all identities and offer a range of programs, including workshops, individual sessions, groups, presentations, in-person events, and help in locating support through off-campus providers. Counseling Services is available to all enrolled Bard students. Counseling Services also provides after hours crisis services by calling Security and asking to speak with the counselor on call.

The Center for Student Life & Advising offers support from the Dean of Students team, and can help students get connected to a host of other academic or co-curricular resources on campus.

The Office of Equity and Inclusion Programs at Bard College support scholars from a variety of backgrounds who seek to attain a rigorous liberal arts education. With the guidance of professional staff and peer mentors, scholars can create a path of personal and academic success at Bard. We oversee the HEOP (Higher Education Opportunity Programs), BOP (Bard Opportunity Program), ECO (Early College Opportunity), Posse Atlanta and Posse Arts Puerto Rico.
