Dorm/residence hall cleanliness

Environmental Services at Bard provides cleaning services for campus buildings, including Residential, Administrative, and Academic buildings. Cleaning schedules are created based on building use; most buildings are cleaned 5 times a week M-F. The primary focus is on bathrooms, classrooms, and common areas, using best practice guidelines including the use of EPA registered and CDC approved disinfecting cleaning products. Residential cleaning is usually 5 times a week, common areas only - bathrooms, kitchens, lounges, common areas. We do not clean student rooms when occupied unless there is a special circumstance.

Bard College provides round-the-clock, year-round safety and security coverage. The Safety and Security Department consists of a director, an assistant director, and 18 officers. In addition, a professional dispatching staff coordinates all security communications. All safety and security officers are highly trained, registered New York State security personnel. Their main mission is to be a positive presence on campus and thus encourage the Bard community and its many visitors to follow the rules and guidelines established by the College.

We work with students regarding their housing placement, programing within the residence areas, and creating a positive community experience through the peer counselors. Our office works with students who have roommate conflicts, and are a resource for students.

Buildings & Grounds department handles keys, IDs, work orders, repairs, and shipping and receiving.
