Getting involved on capmus

Student Activities builds connections between students and grows our community through the creation and guidance of numerous events and signature experiences, the support of BSG, SRG, and 135 clubs and organizations, and the management of the Bertelsmann Campus Center and student-run venues.

Chaplaincy - Spiritual Life at Bard College actively promotes and develops a richer understanding of what we believe and how to use our beliefs to transform the world. Through the Chaplaincy department we offer spiritual support for all students and members of the Bard community. We provide ways to explore faith academically, often with a focus on social issues, and always with an emphasis on diversity and openness. Each chaplain also offers religious services and/or opportunities to deepen students' faith and build community. We are also available for pastoral counseling and conversation.

The Department of Athletics and Recreation offers programs, classes and events that are designed to meet students' wide range of interests and to encourage lifetime fitness and wellness. We have 18 varsity sports, several club sports teams, as well as intramurals, recreational events, and instructional classes that run throughout the school year. Indoor facilities include a six-lane swimming pool, main gymnasium, a fitness center, squash courts, locker rooms, instructional class studios, athletic training room and staff offices. Outdoor venues include Honey Field, a turf baseball facility, the Lorenzo Ferrari Soccer & Lacrosse Complex, lighted tennis courts and cross country trails.

The Center for Civic Engagement realizes Bard’s vision— to act as a private institution in the public interest. CCE initiates programs, fosters sustained partnerships, and supports and connects student, faculty, and staff of Bard’s local, national, and international networks as they work to make a difference in the civic life of their communities.
